What Now?
The Kid Power Tutoring Center was founded by Dena Owens, an Oxnard Elementary School teacher who saw instability in the lives of many of her students. As her observations and the observations of many others throughout history have shown us, poverty can take its toll, sometimes making things like education and planning for the future a more distance goal.
Why?
The Kid Power Tutoring Center provides a warm, academically challenging environment that fosters individual growth. Students a are fully assessed before beginning the program, and each student works toward their own academic goals. Grades go up, and success becomes a part each child’s life experience.
